Intro
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research is funding a major multi-country project called DASH, which stands for the Research Network for Design and Evaluation of Adolescent Health Interventions and Policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Through targeted research and intervention techniques in three crucial areas—nutrition and physical activity, mental health and violence, and sexual and reproductive health—this project aims to promote and improve the health of adolescents.
A wide range of institutions from Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Germany are brought together by the DASH initiative. This cooperative strategy makes use of the knowledge and assets of these nations to create a thorough grasp of the issues related to adolescent health. By pooling knowledge and best practices, the project aims to create robust intervention frameworks that can be adapted and scaled across different regions in Sub-Saharan Africa
The DASH project aims to improve teenagers’ health in the long run by conducting interdisciplinary and cross-country research. By concentrating on sexual and reproductive health, nutrition and physical exercise, and mental health and violence, the project hopes to provide young people with the tools and support they need to live healthy and productive lives.
