The 2024 AKSANC Undergraduate Scholarship for Akwa Ibomites

Ever come across the AKSANC undergraduate Scholarship? The Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria Canada Calgary (AKSANC) welcomes competent Akwa Ibomites to apply for the scholarship award at any higher learning institution in Nigeria (polytechnics, universities, and colleges of education). This scholarship opportunity is intended to help qualified Akwa Ibom State students pursue their academic goals. Applicants must be actively enrolled in a recognized higher education institution in Nigeria. The scholarship intends to ease the financial burden of school and encourage academic success among the youth of Akwa Ibom State.

Criteria For AKSANC Undergraduate Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship grant, applicants must complete the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be Akwa Ibom indigenous people. Proof of indigene status may be required, such as a certificate of origin or an affidavit from a recognized authority certifying such status. 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a public institution of higher learning in Nigeria. This covers publicly supported universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. 
  • Applicants must be undergraduate students who are pursuing their first degree. This criterion eliminates postgraduate students, as well as those enrolled in certificate or diploma programs.
  • Applicants must be registered for the semester in which the scholarship is awarded. Proof of registration, such as a valid student ID or an official letter from the college, may be required.  
  • Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 for current undergraduate students and a high school GPA of 3.5 (on a 5.0 scale) for first-year undergraduates. 
  • Academic transcripts or other formal evidence will be requested to validate the GPA.

Application Documents

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents: 

Certificate of origin

A certificate of origin is required to confirm the applicant’s indigenous status. This document, issued from a recognized local authority or government office in Akwa Ibom, should confirm the applicant’s place of origin. 

Your Academic records

For current undergraduate students, applicants must produce their most recent school year transcript. This document should include the courses taken, grades received, and cumulative GPA to demonstrate the applicant’s academic performance and current enrollment status. 

For first-year undergraduate students, applicants must present an admission letter. This letter should affirm their acceptance and enrollment at a public institution of higher learning in Nigeria. It should include details such as the program of study and the institution’s name.
