  • For the academic year 2024–2025, a scholarship of 7,000 EUR (or its local equivalent) will be given to the chosen students.

Requirements For Google Generation Scholarship Programme

To be eligible to apply, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelors program at an authorized university or college for the 2023-2024 academic year.
  • Intend to enroll or be accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program at an approved university in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Consider pursuing computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrate a solid academic record.
  • Demonstrate leadership and passion for boosting the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

You’ll be required to fill out an online application that includes:

  • General background information (e.g., contact information and data about your current and prospective universities)
  • Resume/CV
  • Academic transcripts from your current institution.
  • Responses to short response essay questions.

Essay Questions

The two short answer essay questions below are designed to evaluate your problem-solving abilities and dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each response to the two following questions should be 500 words or less.

  • Tell me about a time when you faced a complex situation with no clear path to resolution. Describe the steps you followed to reach the solution in detail. What resources and solutions have you considered? What have you learned from this experience? Keep in mind that this could be an issue you’ve encountered at school, job, extracurricular activities, or at home.
  • Based on your personal experience, explain a barrier that inhibits equitable access to technology. What do you think is the root cause? What steps have you taken and will you take to remedy this inequity? Please dedicate at least half of your response to the actions you’ve taken. Keep in mind that impact can occur
