The “France Excellence Europa scholarship 2024 programme, developed by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, provides scholarships to students from 26 European Union nations to study at the Master’s level in a French higher education institution.

Benefits of French Excellence Europa Masters Scholarship
- Payment of a semi-annual stipend of €6,850
- Payment of an installation allowance of €1,700.
- Exemption from registration fees for national degrees in universities and public institutes overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Priority help in obtaining housing in CROUS university residences (rent will be paid by the scholarship bearer).
- Non-European Health Insurance Card holders can register in an insurance plan for the first three months of their stay in France (waiting registration in the general social security system).
- Enrol in supplemental health insurance.

Note: The “France Excellence Europa scholarship” does not include course fees or the cost of foreign or domestic transportation.
The scholarship is provided for the duration of:
- Enrol in M2 for a maximum of 12 months.
- Enrol in M1 for a maximum of 24 months.
Conditions of eligibility:
- You must be a citizen of one of the following 26 European Union member countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden.
- Be a young person, having only turned 18 or 26 when you started your stay in France;
- Must be accepted into a Master’s 1 or Master’s 2 programme at a French university for the 2024–2025 academic year;
- Not having a French higher education degree or not being enrolled in a higher education programme in France at this time;
- not hold an AUF, Erasmus +, or other scholarship from the French ministry.
Selection Process
The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs’ strategic objectives are closely matched with the “France Excellence Europa” scholarship program, which recognizes students for their great academic achievements. The initial screening of applications is carried out by college relations specialists in French embassies.
Subsequently, experienced specialists from relevant areas within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs extensively study and evaluate the applications to ensure that they meet the scholarship’s criteria and objectives.
Timetable
- French embassies will pre-select applicants from March 30 to April 12, 2024.
- Committees tasked for selecting candidates: April 15–April 26, 2024
- Results will be notified (pending acceptance) to both the primary and supplementary lists beginning on April 29, 2024.
- July 2024 is when the final list will be completed.
Required Application Documents
- The application for the “France Excellence Europa Scholarship 2024 edition” must be completed and signed in French or English, along with a CV.
- Cover letter (either in English or French)
- Applicants must provide a copy of their most recent higher education diploma. If the candidate is currently pursuing further education, a copy of their secondary school diploma should be submitted. Once the higher education credential has been secured, it must be mailed promptly. Documents should be translated into English or French before submission.
- copies of transcripts from the final two years of university study, available in either English or French
- a duplicate identification document (ID card, passport, etc.)
- Admission letter to a Master’s 1 or 2 programme at a French university for the academic year 2024–2025
Once the candidate receives the letter of admission, it must be delivered as quickly as feasible.

- Copies of French proficiency certificates or degrees (DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF)
- Copies of English proficiency certificates or diplomas (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS)

The applicant is encouraged to attach a sworn statement mentioning the name of the institution and the title of the anticipated programme for 2024–25, as well as a copy of correspondence with the institution attesting to the fact that the application for admission is being processed, if they do not yet have a letter of admission for the 2024–25 academic year at the time of application. Each course selection requires a sworn statement, which must be included in the application file.
