Schwarzman Scholars: How to Apply for a Master’s Scholarship

Qualification Criteria for Schwarzman Scholars Masters Scholarship

  • Undergraduate Degree: By August 1st of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year, applicants must possess an undergraduate degree or be on track to obtain one. Candidates from various academic backgrounds are welcome to apply for the undergraduate degree; there are no specific field requirements. But candidates need to show how Schwarzman Scholars will help them become more of a leader in their field of choice.
  • Age Requirement: As of August 1st of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year, candidates must be at least 18 years old but not older than 29. For the Class of 2025–2026, for instance, candidates’ ages as of August 1, 2025, should be within this range. 
  • English Proficiency: Candidates must have excellent English language abilities because all instruction at Schwarzman Scholars is done in that language. The candidate must provide the results of an official English proficiency exam if English is not their first language. The following are the minimal amounts that are considered acceptable: Minimum score of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Seven is the minimum score required by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The required minimum score for Cambridge English is 185 for Advanced (C1) or Proficiency (C2) courses.

Note:This English language proficiency criteria is not applicable to candidates who: attended an undergraduate school where, for at least two years of their academic career, English served as the predominant medium of teaching. possess a Master’s degree or above in English, having studied the language for two or more years.

Language Requirement: English applications submitted online must be filled in Roman script. Make sure all correspondence, papers, and submissions are written in the English language. 

Electronic Submission: The web portal must be used to electronically submit all application criteria. No materials submitted by email or other methods are accepted for the program. You are free to take your time working on your application. It is not required to be finished in one sitting. Before submitting your work in its final form, use the ‘Continue’ button to save your work and return to it as often as necessary.

Email Address: When creating your account, provide a valid, working email address. For all upcoming correspondence about your admissions status, this email will be utilized. Make sure that during the admissions process, the email address you supply doesn’t expire. 

Maintain the Security of Your Login Information: Store your username and password in a safe location. To access your application in the future and get updates on its status, you’ll need this information. 

Application Deadline: The application deadline is September 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Please note this date on your calendar. Applications that arrive late will not be accepted, no matter what the reason may be.

Note: If you registered for an account on the Schwarzman Scholars platform in 2021 or later, select “Returning User” in order to begin the application. However, if you’d initially applied for application before the year 2021, make a new account and begin the application process again.
